TONS of Cure Wallpapers!

I was just looking for a couple more Cure pictures last night to beef up my screensaver collection, and I happened upon this site, which has more Cure wallpapers than I really would have thought you could come up with. It's mighty cool. :-)

The Big O - Lost Memories

The Big O - Lost Memories

This is the only site that I found that had the Big O songs... When I finally got them to download completely, though, they sounded weird. Maybe I was just hearing the Japanese version, and it was different or something... or this one was from the OST instead of the show itself... I know that I was hearing more of the song than I'd ever heard before, but even the parts I knew were very different, with more prominent synth parts and more guitar layering... it sounded almost Queen-like. Still, it's the only version I can find, so it'll have to do for now. I figured I'd post it in case someone I know cares to check it out.

Modesty Makeovers: From Skimpy to Stylish -- Beliefnet.com

Modesty Makeovers: From Skimpy to Stylish -- Beliefnet.com

This article... is very misleading. While I don't necessarily have anything against modesty, this article is giving people false impressions of what looks good. Hell, maybe some people think that these ideas look good, but I can't believe they would. Maybe it might be hard to find fashions that aren't really short for women, but I don't think it would be that hard... and if you even buy those things, then you're just supporting the ideas, there. This article just struck me as really dumb... dumb enough to comment upon.

MSNBC - Genetic mutationturns tot into superboy

MSNBC - Genetic mutationturns tot into superboy

This is an interesting article. Makes me wonder if I have low myostatin production, judging from my legs and how quickly I an increase weights when I lift. I'm probably just a big guy who doesn't know his own strength, though. Perhaps that's better, judging from the possible health side-effects.

Cool Trigun Wallpaper

I'm still having lots of trouble finding most anime MP3s, but I did find this cool Trigun wallpaper. It's different, but interesting.

Midvalley The Hornfreak's Sound Clips

Midvalley The Hornfreak's Sound Clips

More fun Trigun sounds. This one at least has the commercial caps, which are really cool guitar riffs. I'll have to check the rest out, later.

TRIGUNOMETRY - audio clips

I was looking for the song from the end of trigun, but I found some fun dialogue clips. Jamie, check this one out. Look for drunkenmillie.wav It's right up your alley. ;-)

SoundFont.com: Tutorials

SoundFont.com: Tutorials

This is a whole bunch of keyboard tutorials I'm going to need to check out later on. I found stuff about SoundFont, because on the Nobuo Uematsu site, they have sound fonts for the sounds from the Final Fantasy games. I'd really like to figure out how to make that work... I think I'll need to get those midi cables, though... I think it'd be worth it... if nothing else, I'd have that capablity, and maybe a few more sounds to work with that I'd really like.

Nobuo Uematsu: the man, the legend...

Nobuo Uematsu: the man, the legend...

This site is great. It's completely dedicated to the work of Nobuo Uematsu, the man who creates all the music for the Final Fantasy games. I finally got to see what he looked like! There's so much infortmation on the site, too. I'm pretty excited about it... he's one of my main influences.

Smoo's Guitar Tabs

Smoo's Guitar Tabs

A huge selection of anime and video game guitar tabs... this is great!

Anime Guitar Tab Archive

Anime Guitar Tab Archive

I found a whole section of tabs for songs from anime shows. How cool is that?

Anime Dictionary

Anime Dictionary

Useful for people who don't know much about anime. Clues you in on some of the slang. I don't use the slang or random Japanese words all that much, but some other people do. It's good stuff to know, and also just fun to know, too.

Anime Tourist - Web Links

Anime Tourist - Web Links

I don't know how often they update this, but it's a nice list of anime-related contests. Worth checking out... you might win something. ;-)

Chocobo Robo Voice Remix

If you've ever played Final Fantasy, this is hilarious! The animation is kind of crude, but it's really amusing. It's set to the chocobo theme song, with words added and amusing little animated vignettes. Highly recommended if you've played most of the Final Fantasy games.

Download Anime

Download Anime

This looks like a very promising site. I haven't had a chance to really check it out very well, yet, though. I'll give you more on it after I have... just thought I'd put it out there, because it looks REALLY cool....

Endless Power.Net: Bringing Together the Worlds of Anime and Sci-Fi

Endless Power.Net: Bringing Together the Worlds of Anime and Sci-Fi

This is a good site to get Inuyasha MP3s from, and looks rather well designed. It has other shows' songs, and also lots of other content I didn't have time to check out. I figured I'd do that after I finished downloading the ones I know. It's going to be a while. After lots of searching, this one is the best I've found.

Why Do Religions Teach Love and Yet Cause So Much War? by Ken Wilber -- Beliefnet.com

In case you hadn't noticed, I spend a decent amount of time, here. This article was kind of interesting, because it hinted at some ideas of themes that transcend religion, but not universality of belief. You'd have to read it to understand what I'm trying to say, but if you do, don't put much stock in what he writes about linguistics... his understanding of linguistics is terrible, but his ideas are interesting.

Mental Health Concerns for Behavioral Minorities

Mental Health Concerns for Behavioral Minorities

A scientific/philosophical protest of psychology that uses ulfhednar as an example. It's crazy, and out there, and I love it.

Jon Stewart's 2004 commencement speech at the College of William and Mary -- Beliefnet.com

Jon Stewart's 2004 commencement speech at the College of William and Mary -- Beliefnet.com

It was interesting. It was funny. It made me feel good about my future. It also made me think about what I should do for the world. A good article, I think.

Werewolves and Werebears

Werewolves and Werebears

Another interesting place on historical ideas of the myth of the werewolf. Also has a section on Ulfhednar, and, if you're interested, lots of great photos of wolves which make the site even better than just the information.

Ulfhednar Hearth

Ulfhednar Hearth

This looks like a fun place. I was looking for a place that had more information about ulfhednar (something like a berserker in nordic mythology, but with an affinity to a wolf instead of a bear), because I self-identify as one, but I'm finding very little... particularly in English. This one looks fairly promising, though... even if it's more about Asatru than ulfhednar. Still, it's fun. :-)

www.thecure.com - THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE

www.thecure.com - THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE

This is the website for the Cure. I was so excited when I heard they were coming to the states. It's been my dream for years to go see the Cure, but they've been staying far away from here for a while. I'm totally psyched to see them, now. They're one of my favorite bands... and a huge influence.

Ray Charles dies at 73 - Jun 10, 2004

CNN.com - Ray Charles dies at 73 - Jun 10, 2004

I saw this the other day, and I was really saddened. I'm not really sure why, because I've never been a really huge Ray Charles fan, but I know that some of my heroes were. You've gotta admit there was some talent, there, and a good deal of adversity overcome when he went blind as a kid. I don't know if I'm just jumping on the bandwagon, or I just always come into things as they're dying, but I feel really moved, now. Maybe I'll have to try to check out some Ray Charles stuff, now... see what I've been missing.

Apatheism

-- Beliefnet.com

This article has some interesting points. I don't necessarily agree with the part about not caring about one's own religious beliefs, but perhaps the part about not caring about others' has some merit.

Wu Wei and the Force

-- Beliefnet.com

This appeals to both the nerd in me and the Taoist. It's kind of fun.

ACIDplanet.com: Tools: 8Packs

ACIDplanet.com: Tools: 8Packs

If you happen to use ACID or any other loop-based music production software, this is a good place to get free loops every week. Sometimes, they repeat, but lots of times, there are new ones. I have quite a collection just from downloading whenever I could for the past year or so. I mostly use them for drums and ear candy, and record my bass, guitars, and vocals, but whatever you use them for is cool.

Berklee Shares: free music lessons, mp3, quicktime and pdf files download

Berklee Shares: free music lessons, mp3, quicktime and pdf files download

I just found this today. I'm not sure if it's new or not, but it's a big section of free music lessons from Berklee teachers, so I'm pretty excited about it. I'm hoping the lessons are worthwhile. I'm downloading some of them right now.

Internet Sacred Text Archive Main Index

Internet Sacred Text Archive Main Index

A really great place to visit if you're like me and are interested in the diversity of human religious belief. I personally enjoy the pagan, taoist, confucian, shinto, shamanism, and various cultural mythologies, but whatever catches your fancy works. The best part is the texts are all public domain, so they're free. Very nice.

TMBG: FREE TUNES PAGE

TMBG: FREE TUNES PAGE

I haven't been focused on They Might Be Giants, lately, but I do still enjoy them. This is a good site to check every once in a while, if you like them. You can get free MP3s, and the decor is rather amusing, as well.

GuitarStringJewelry.com

GuitarStringJewelry.com

This site was really interesting, and it must cost a bunch to make this jewelry... unless the crafter goes through guitar and bass strings like crazy. It was a really fun idea, so I've been saving the ball ends from my strings to make a necklace, as well. I might need to change brands, though, because most of my ends are copper. Anyhow, pretty cool, if you're a guitarist.

The Band Register

The Band Register

Extremely useful if you happen to have a band and are trying to think up a name. It can get very disheartening, though, because just about anything you'd think of that you'd actually use for a band is taken. My old band and I spent hours on here trying to find something nobody had. It never really panned out. All the ideas I've had since then haven't worked, either. My last favorite one got shot down, recently, but I haven't given up hope. If Shaman King has taught me one thing, it's to not give up the fight... ;-)

Anime Title Generator

Anime Title Generator

One of those amusing diversions... and it does point out how strange anime titles can appear in English....

The Official Ninja Webpage: REAL Ultimate Power!!!!

The Official Ninja Webpage: REAL Ultimate Power!!!!

I know, this one's old, but I still enjoy it... as long as you don't get into the guy's personal opinion section, wherein he's kind of a close-minded jerk. If you just stick to the main ninja section, it's quite enjoyable... albeit in a sort of sophomoric sort of way. Worth checking out at least once.

FFRPG @ Returner Headquarters

FFRPG @ Returner Headquarters

This is a sweet site about turning the different Final Fantasy roleplaying video games into a tabletop RPG for us old-schoolers. It's quite well thought-out, and the rules are extensive (I downloaded the eBook, which was 250+pages or so). It's something I'd really like to try out, sometime.

An Exploration of Dark Paganism - Library

An Exploration of Dark Paganism - Library

This is a cool site if you're a pagan (especially a gothic one)and feel like reading about interesting spiritual stuff for free. There are lots of interesting articles about the darker side of paganism that's usually neglected. It's not about bad things, but about good things that are misunderstood. Very interesting, and lots of content. Right up my alley.

DriveThruRPG.com

DriveThruRPG.com

This place is great. It's roleplaying game eBooks, and every week, they offer a book or two for free. The ones you pay for are really cheap, too. I've gotten so much cool stuff, it's like a gamer's dream. Seriously, check it out, if you're a gamer at all.

[adult swim] | Shows

[adult swim] | Shows

I'm an adult swim fanatic. I watch mostly just the anime, though, so during the week and on Saturdays is when I watch, primarily. I also go for Family Guy and Futurama, but most of their domestically produced shows are awful. I absolutely despise Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and the ones that I just dislike aren't worth watching, either. I'm glad that they moved most of them to Sunday night, but now they have ATHF on every night, and it's awful. I change the station just so I don't support that show. I usually end up watching blind date or something I don't care about and reading something, only to come back in a half hour. But for all the anime it's introduced me to for free, I still like adult swim. I particularly enjoy Inuyasha, Trigun, Wolf's Rain and FLCL. I also liked Blue Gender, Cowboy Bebop (used to like it more, but they show it too much), Case Closed, Big O, and Witch Hunter Robin. It's worth it for those good shows.

Shaman King

Shaman King

This is one of my favorite TV shows. It's cool to like Saturday morning cartoons again. I just wish this one weren't on so early! I just tape it, now. I started on it just reading the manga, which was awesome. I was kind of disappointed in the show at first, because it was all about shaman fights, but then I realised it was just way further than I was in the manga. They changed a bunch of the names, but the show is still really fun. I used to hate the theme song, but, like the Big O one, it grew on me, and now I end up singing it all the time. Megan and I do it to feel close while we're apart. It's definitely good for us, but it's also just a fun show.

Nuklear Power - Home of 8-bit Theater

Nuklear Power - Home of 8-bit Theater

I've been reading this one for ages, but it's still a favorite. This one is less for my friends (they mostly all read it or at least know about it), but more for random passers-by. If you have ever played final fantasy, and you like comic strips, this one's great. I've read through all of it, and even all the old advice columns they added in later. I'm still trying to get Megan to check it out, though... :-D

My favorite author

Welcome to the Official Konstantinos Site v.5.0

I always used to never have a favorite author whenever people would ask, but I found one last year or so. He's a pagan author, but also a goth, and he's a musician. He's so much like me, it's really cool... except he's Greek, but that's alright. His writing is very readable and compelling, and he's less of a traditionalist than most. It really appeals to me.

I just wish I could join his band... ;-)

Pente Net

Pente Net

Megan got me hooked on this game. It's pretty fun. I've been playing it against her and Jai, and two other people who randomly challenged me. So far I've only lost, but I think I put up a good fight. It's fun, too. I'd recommend it to anyone who is interested. Look me up. Name's Silas.

Bob and George, the Comic Strip!

Bob and George, the Comic Strip!

I found this site through the wired link from 8-Bit theater the other day. It's actually a pretty good sprite comic. It's found a place on my favorites bar in IExplorer, so I figure I'll share it with anyone who's interested.

How Can We Keep from Singing? Why We Need More Pagan Chants -- Beliefnet.com

How Can We Keep from Singing? Why We Need More Pagan Chants -- Beliefnet.com

I found this story while browsing beliefnet, and it seemed interesting. I think it could have used some more content or comment, though. Perhaps, it could have used some suggestion for ways to make new songs, or some songs that were already written, but still, it's nice to see the issue addressed.
