This is just a cute, light story about a chihuahua in a Japanese Buddhist temple who mimics praying when other people are praying. It was cute, and the picture is adorable. I just thought I'd share.

Squirrels on Crack
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2005/oct/08/drugsandalcohol.patrickbarkham
A co-worker of mine who I like to chat with came in this morning wanting me to look up something about squirrels in london who were supposedly addicted to crack. When I searched for it, I found a ton of sites, this was just the first one on the list. I was sort of surprised, because I didn't figure a squirrel would go for crack for any particular reason... at least the first time. The article still doesn't have any hard proof, and is a bit sensationalized (honestly, a squirrel couldn't freebase... it's pretty complex, and I don't know if it could work the lighter), but it's fairly interesting.

Just Seems Weird...
http://www.batterblaster.com/index.php
I got something about this in a newsletter today. It's a ready-made pancake batter that comes in an aerosol can, rather like whipped cream. There's a video you can watch on the site, and several independent reviewers say it's just like normal commercially-available pancake batter. It's just one of those odd things that makes you wonder why somebody bothered. It just seems unnecceseary to me, but I guess I must not be the target demographic for it... and it's entirely possible my wife would think it was a great idea.

RIP
http://blog.wired.com/underwire/2008/03/report-gary-gyg.html
I just read that Gary Gygax, one of the co-creators of Dungeons & Dragons died today. Apparently, he's been in ill-health for some time, and it's not unexpected, but still somewhat sad. I'm not devastated, but I do wish to remember his contributions, which have meant quite a bit in my life.
To Gary...

Sounds Like Fun
http://us.i1.yimg.com/videogames.yahoo.com/feature/become-a-real-guitar-hero/1191518
As both a guitarist and a gamer, this sounds pretty cool. I'm pretty good at playing the guitar, and I enjoy playing Guitar Hero games quite a bit, but a game that actually teaches you to play the guitar? That sounds epic. I rarely seem to have the patience to learn to play new songs, as I'd often rather just write something new, or save myself the hassle of trudging through bad tabs and looping difficult passages. Having a game that would help me do that, and even choose some cool songs for me to try out sounds like a great idea. I know there will be songs I'd like to learn that aren't on there (no matter what they put on there), I'm sure they'll choose songs worth learning, and every new song I learn is useful in some way. I really hope this one comes out on the Xbox, but even if it doesn't, I might just get it and use it on my new laptop, anyway.
