This description is just brutal. Granted, they're going to eat the insect afterwards, but this is definitely contrary to the idea that humans are more cruel than other creatures. we're just every bit as cruel as the others. However, what I find really interesting about this article is that many people consider humans the main tool-using creatures, but perhaps that's a limited definition. Since this is modifying their environment, and not something they hold, it seems less like a tool, but that seems like a limiting definition... particularly since ants don't actually have hands. It's a really interesting thing for me. Not sure if anyone else cares, though. ;-)
