I saw this story, and it was peculiar. A meteorite hit near a small village in Peru, and now everyone near it is getting sick. The article says that there is boiling water and rock particles near the crater (which is fairly sizeable). It makes one wonder if it might perhaps be radioactive or (if one were in a more science-fiction mood) if there might be some sort of organism there trying to take over hosts and take over the world. It's more likely the former, I think. In any case, it was an interesting story I saw.
