This article... well, they're trying. They really don't seem to understand how people view spirituality today. They only brush on what the whole article should have been about at the end, and really don't seem to understand that there are people who are sorely left out by these shows (my mom watches a few of them, so I've seen them). Honestly, I don't actually like any of the shows that are mentioned except two mentioned in passing that really have not much to do with spirituality. Some of the shows really make me retch, because they're really cheesy and send messages that I strongly disagree with. Also, they try to say the shows are inclusive, but they're very much not in many cases... particlarly with the Christian shows. They're not inclusive... they're Christian. If you're not Christian, they don't really give you much. I guess they're non-denominational, but that's not inclusive. Anyhow, I just randomly found this article and decided to have a little rant on it. It was somewhat interesting, though, even though I tended to disagree with it. Still made me think about things.
