Cinco History
I have a friend at work who is of Mexican heritage, and she's having a Cinco De Mayo party that she invited me to. While I'm not sure whether I'll be attending or not, I did decide to make some Mexican food for dinner and decided I ought to know what Cinco De Mayo was all about. As it turns out, it's quite an interesting story. This article gives a brief synopsis, and puts an interesting spin on why Americans of non-Mexican descent should have reason to celebrate it, as well. I just found it interesting, really, and next time someone talks about Cinco De Mayo, you can know what it's all about, too. ;-)
