Wasted Resources

I think this has not been thought through. Sure, everyone would like an island where they rule everything, but building your own just seems like overkill. Not only will there be no infrastructure, and no controlling body to make sure one will exist, the inevitable destruction from without or utter tyranny by one wealthy person who controls everything will end up driving it into the ground... unless the people simply flee from the dreadful living conditions. Lacking in natural resources to generate profits (unless you're going to be fishermen... or perhaps drill for oil off the coast... for which I think you would need to get permits from the United States... it will go for perhaps a couple of years before toppling over... and all that after a substantial fortune is spent to set it up. Silly humans....
